Origami Engineering Imagination Station

This Imagination Station is currently at Lebanon Junction Library until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30th. Learn to fold origami cubes then complete the participation form at the bottom of this post.

Here's what to do: First, ask at the Circulation Desk for a supply of origami paper. Then, learn to fold the multi-color sinobe cube by watching the two videos below. The multi-color sinobe cube requires six square sheets of paper but does not involve any tricky folds. The first video below explains how to fold each sheet of paper into the sinobe unit. The second video explains how to assemble the six sinobe units into a cube.

Next, learn to fold the seamless cube by watching the video below. The seamless cube requires only one square sheet of paper, but it does involve some tricky folds.

Finally, add your completed cubes to the other building blocks at the station and rearrange them to build your own unique structure. After you have finished practicing the ancient Japanese art of paper folding and building a new structure at the station, please complete the participation form below.

If the form below does not display properly, click here or call 543-7675 ext. 2554.
